NC Parcels Services Have New Symbology

NC Parcels has quickly become the most popular vector data set offered by NC OneMap. This is also true of the web services. The number of daily hits to the NC Parcels web services continue to climb. As such, people are combining this data with all kinds of other GIS data in their projects and applications. In response to customer feedback we have changed the default symbology for the parcel polygon lines (and point centroids) in this service from cyan (blue) to magenta (dark pink). We understand this may not be ideal when displayed over your particular base map. However, after experimenting with a variety of colors overlaid on the most commonly used  base maps we feel this is the best option. If you need a different symbology you can always access our NC Parcels feature service or take advantage of our recently enabled dynamic layers

Original parcel symbology is difficult to see on some base maps.

The new parcel symbology offers better contrast for a variety of base maps.
