The NC OneMap Geoportal is the central location to find geospatial data online for North Carolina. It operates on a distributed architecture which means that resources are not served from one central location. Instead, the data and services are hosted by a variety of data providers. The NC Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (NCCGIA), employer of yours truly, not only operates the Geoportal but also is a provider for several popular data sets (e.g., imagery, parcels, etc.). Starting in January, 2017, we will be making changes so that our services will only support connections using HTTPS. If you currently connect to any of our services via HTTP, then you will need to update your urls. Read on to find out why we're making this change and what you need to do to be ready.
North Carolina now has a parcel data set that includes all 100 counties and areas comprising the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians.
36 counties have recently been added to NC Parcels.
The 2014 orthoimagery is now available from the NC OneMap GeoSpatial Portal. Read on for all of the details.
